Tubod Bird Sanctuary – Cebu

I’m not usually disappointed with visiting places as long as I have my camera. But visiting what is Tubod Flowing Waters Resorts Bird Sanctuary managed to be somewhat disappointing at best. The birds are all caged in separate cages and there was less than 20 birds in total. A snake, 2 scavenger animals similar to a western fox (Sorry don’t know the name). As well as a caged hamster. The only real wild life that seemed to roam freely was a rat that appeared from the plants. It is more of a private collection than a sanctuary even by definition is completely against the whole meaning of sanctuary. As a sanctuary by definition is for the protection and well-being of the animals first not for profit. Last year it was a “butterfly Sanctuary” well the butterflies are still there in the reception pinned inside frames. The entrance fee is P50 each and with the trek up there unless your really bored and already stopping at the resort I would give it a miss.

if your visiting the resort there is a gate “entrance fee” I had to pay that for friends who waited with me for our V hire even though I was staying at the resort for 2 weeks.
The food is terrible and when we stopped here my wife was still working so she would bring the take out from the city on route, due to its location its too far from the main road and the road is very poor condition. The construction sites are opening up all around it although I dont think that does much regarding affecting the resort because the majority of buildings are away from the road. The pools are nice and I found the resort itself was “ok” but you had to “ASK” for your room to be cleaned. There is only dial up internet that doesnt work very well and infact I think the receptionists disconnected my internet so they could use the phone. All in all the design and structure of the resort is good. Location could be better although like you say Mark its reasonable in price. Food I wouldnt waste my money on
