Philippines tourism on Friday gained its new slogan to hopefully improve tourism to the Philippines "It’s more fun in the Philippines” is being utilized to help promote the country. Its use in addition to conversations with such things as the image above showing “going upstairs” is a typical example of the play on words to help plant the thoughts of the Philippines on peoples minds. The new website http://itsmorefuninthephilippines.com has started introducing the punch line with "Commuting. It’s more fun in the Philippines" alongside a scenic photo of boats in Coron, Palawan.
Tourism secretary Ramon Jimenez, Jr. is putting the emphasis on Filipinos making the Philippines worth the visit “Our strategy is simple: while other countries invite you to observe, Filipinos can promise a more heartfelt and interesting experience. Wherever you go, whatever you do in the country, it’s the Filipinos that will complete your vacation and will make your holiday unforgettable,”
Locally the Department Of Tourism is looking to promote the new slogan and encourage Filipinos to get involved with its local version "#1forFun"
“The national line is a goal, a constant reminder to ourselves why we can tell travelers it’s more fun here than anywhere else,” he said. “It needs everyone’s support for it to stay true—we need to make sure people’s experiences in our country are positive, enjoyable, and most of all, fun,” Jimenez added.
A new 30 day visa is also being introduced which is a good thing but obviously could go a lot further with as many people are permanently here yet struggle to get full-time visas where 6 month visas would work well for many. The 30 day visa though is an improvement on the current 21 day visa and should already be now in place for those arriving in the Philippines.
