Mosquito’s are a constant problem in the Philippines and yesterday we bought some fish as a test batch for Aquaponics. While a tank for the fish I decided to put them in a basin temporary. Then an idea struck to put a solar powered night light in the middle of the basin to draw in flies, for the fish to eat as well as an active pool mosquito’s can land on to be swiftly sucked up as lunch.
Simple idea and seems to be working. I may end up creating a few more small pools around the home as they are also rather calming to see the fish roaming around. The kids certainly like the new Koi.
