Casa Gorordo Museum - Cebu, Philippines, sight seeing, local attraction

Conveniently located in down town Cebu city in a residential suburb. The recently renovated Casa Gorordo Museum is one of the must see attractions when visiting Cebu. Its original use was a private home built during the 1950s and bought by Gorordo’s one of Cebu’s wealthy families. You will find a unique blend of Mactan coral stone on the lower part of the house which assist in making the home cool during day hours. Above this you will find the upper level is constructed of local hardwoods and fixed together with traditional methods such as pegging the timber with wooden pegs.

The home although blended with a mix of Spanish and local influences also has its Chinese feng shui thrown in for good measure due to Gorordo matriarch Donna Telerafora having Chinese ancestry his death portrait can be found in the main hallway.

You will find some interesting and unique exhibits including kitchen implements and antique furniture, there is a cafe area in the forecourt as well as admission offering a guided tour giving a quaint afternoon in Cebu to enjoy a bit of history on your visit.
