One of our friends dropped by with Neem leaves and seeds as one of the ideas Rob has been working on involved using Neem leaves for a mosquito repellent which does actually work and tonight we burned some leaves on a small wood hob at the sari-sari as the wet weather has been causing a bit of a mosquito problem at night. So far no bites and pretty much not seen any mosquitoes tonight.
Our friends Rob and Des will be heading off to the UK shortly as all the paperwork has now been finalised and arrived nothing stopping the long haul flight to the UK. So just sorting things out before they go which was the main reason Rob came over to get the home PC that is being left behind for the family to help them keep in touch with Des needed a complete format and fresh installs as well as making sure it was deep frozen to keep maleware and viruses off the machine. Its good to see things clicking into place as many people assume getting a visa is just a short deal and a couple of meetings its took around 6 months for everything to be completed and something people should be aware of if entering into a long-term relationship that your going to have to either stay until its all sorted or some long skype calls at night to keep in touch.
The neem leaves by the way seem to have a fair bit of oil in them which is something we will be looking to extract as its this that upsets the mosquitoes and acts as a mosquito repellent. Little bit irritating that people aren’t using them more in the neighbourhood to help cut down on the mosquito numbers but will see how it goes as it could pay to be growing them and making candles with the oil to sell at the sari-sari as a small business idea.
