I really don’t like getting into rants and generally look to resolve the situation rather than make it worse but McDonald’s is a bit of an odd one. I have had problems with McDonalds’s in the UK a couple of times in my lifetime and customer service has always been the priority. But here in Cebu, Philippines seems a bit of a joke. Tonight’s events were part of a continuous problem with the branch near Gaisano Tabunok who literally get the majority of orders wrong on a regular basis. Talking to the drivers the problem seems to be at their kitchen side but then again it seems drivers don’t check the orders so a problem just keeps repeating itself. Call the call centre in Manila to get things sorted they then call the restaurant to call you back which is pretty much passing the buck as the Call Centre should be doing follow up calls to make sure the problems are dealt with.
The last 7 orders we have ordered from McDonald’s 5 have been wrong the last one the driver was trying to get us to deduct it off the bill to save him going back for it and today was just annoying that the Manila help desk doesn’t take problems seriously. On top of this 5 of the last 7 orders didn’t have drinks because we had McFlurry or some other ice-cream food which made me realise that every time I have Coke or lemonade from McDonalds I am sick within hours with LBM (Diarrhea) which I assume is down to the water supply to the ice making machine. I know others will say its a common problem and I would agree at the same time I have meals at a lot of other chain restaurants and not the same problem.
So moved from putting up with it to contacting McDonalds in the U.S. who’s response is to get the same people in Manila to deal with it rather than tackle the issue themselves. Don’t mind dealing with people but it seems nothing gets fixed and looks like McDonalds is now off our menu for good just wish there was a KFC nearer!
