The multi cab bus is the most common use of public transport on Cebu island in the Philippines. Its bigger brother also exists the Jeepney, although mainly for the local routes the multi cab converted bus is ideal for the country. Originally they were imported Japanese mini van’s and pick ups made by Suzuki and Daihatsu. The vehicles often arrive in the Philippines in several parts to avoid tax duty as “parts” carry less tax on imports.
They are then rebuilt and in the vehicle shown the back axle is extended, then a fabricated metal frame is built to make the passenger area.
