Philippines expat: Heavy smog smaze over Cebu island

There has been a large Smaze (Smog and Haze) hit the Visayas region in the Philippines. A dark cloud like cover hangs over Cebu City. Which although the Philippines is famous for its pollution it does seem in this instance to be caused by Indonesian forest fires. The Co2 currently being released by these large fires is believed to be more pollution than what the United States produces per day. The other negative factor in this is that the fires are being started deliberately for land clearances for production of palm oil.
If you live in Cebu you are being advised to wear a mask when out and avoid going out where possible due to the high levels of pollution.
