Mixing Fertilizer In 5 Gallon Water Container

5 gallon water container being used for fertilizer

First important note here is MARKING the water container, these blue containers are generally used for drinking water but being 5 gallons actually helps with my chemical mix for the water. The mix for the fertilizers we bought are 2 tablespoons for 20 litres of water.

1 US gallon = 3.78541178 litres x 5 = 18.927 litres

So although 1litre short I reduced the mix of fertilizer to suit, at the same time doing this mix once has left me enough fertilizer mix for the next few months. The water container may also end up as part of the new Hydroponics setup we are going to be building. So if you come across a place that sells cheap pipe fittings let me know as we will be looking for a lot of them. Locally they are P18 each.

Anyway just wanted to show an easy way to mix up the fertilizer as well as being able to find a water dispenser top easily here means you can either pump or use gravity to feed the fertilizer into whatever you are using to spray your crops or garden. We are using Manusol Fertilizers with balanced levels expensive at over P300 but one pack will be enough for at least a year.
