IL DUCATO TRADING, INC. – French and Italian food / wine supplier Cebu,Philippines

imageA lover of quality food and those hard to find items for the kitchen I was sent a link today regarding a business in Mandaue that many people might find useful which supply Italian and French foods and wines. The pricing may be a bit high for some but your paying for quality and for European imports so I would expect the prices to be more in line with costs in Italy and France rather than local due to the distance travelled and being the real deal. You will come across cheap wines here but often they are really “cheap wines” in recycled bottles and not the original in the first place there are plenty of on going scams in the food industry here in the Philippines as it seems nobody gets prosecuted.

On the other hand IL DUCATO TRADING, INC. guarantees its quality and authenticity in its ranges and offers a fairly good selection of products from Italy and France. Originally setup to service the hotel industry the business has expanded to offer more services to the general public including being able to order food and wines online. I have grabbed a few of their photos below showing a small selection of the variety of goods they provide for French and Italian foods below.

All I can really advise is dropping by, giving them a call or drop them an email on your requirements as I am sure they are willing to assist you where they can. I will drop by next time I’m in the area and grab some photos.

Hi there, I follow you on Twitter…this post on food makes me wonder if you’ve heard of this lechon place called Zubuchon? The blog of the owner (Marketman Manila) has some interesting entries on where to get good imported stuff – though mostly Manila-based, so it’s kind of like “info I should know if on a trip to Manila” kind of thing if you’re Cebu-based.

I like your blog, always try to read up the latest entries to get a expat’s view of the country. Good work!

p/s – Zubuchon is in Cebu City, I think.

My wife is a keen reader of Market Man Manila which is one of the reasons we went up to Banilad market for Organic foods. Market Man’s lechon was for sale up there which is how we found the market.
