One of the things people don’t realise is how many varieties of fruit there are in the Philippines but more importantly how many people are of the microwave and tin generations from abroad. What seems a simple bit of common sense may not be for many people simply because many of the fruits haven’t been available before. This one is a Pomelo which is a large grapefruit and in the UK generally the grapefruits I get have a thinner skin so just need slicing and eating with a spoon. The Pomelo on the other hand has a much thicker skin and has a little bit of a technique in getting the most fruit out of it. At the same time the lighter they are the sweeter the taste, Often the heavier ones are a bit dry in taste.
