German Child Abuser To Be Deported From Philippines – Gisbert Leistner, 49

The German Gisbert Leistner, 49, will be homeward bound as soon as the German embassy releases his travel documents, Immigration legal chief Arvin Santos said. (Which to me tells me that the German government had revoked his passport previously)

Leistner is wanted in Germany for sexually abusing 17 minors and was recently arrested in the Philippines by the Bureau of Immigration (BI).

He is currently being held in Bicutan, Taguig City. Arrested on the 7th of April in Angeles City Pampanga on the strength of a deportation warrant being issued.

"He has been an undocumented and overstaying alien because his passport had long expired and neither did he bother to extend his stay in the country," lawyer Antonette Mangrobang, BI spokesperson, said.

Wanted in Konstanz, Germany the warrant lists 17 counts of sexual abuse of minors. Leistner arrived in the Philippines on November 14th 1997 and never left since. The disturbing thing with this was the warrant issued due to only his passport being expired? Because he could have gone for Philippines citizenship within 5 years of being in the country that could have made deportation difficult. At the same time there is a lot of these vermin in the country and its about time the government started doing more to get them out or jailing.
