Gardens starting to take shape

flower in the Philippines When we originally looked at the garden it was a bit difficult to invision things as generally here everything seems green or grey. Green trees, plants, grass and grey buildings. But in the last 18 months I have been impressed on how the neighbourhood is developing as well as the fact we managed to get our plants going. I have to admit Aprils a lot more green fingered than I am but the plants are coming on in leaps and bounds adding colour as well as a cheap hobby to keep us occupied. On top of that the fruit and vegetables are also developing and its surprising how quickly things advance in a few days here. Chili’s and peppers went from seed to nearly 2” tall within 3-4 days.

Utilizing our exterior wall which is not only shaded but also keeps the plants out of heavy rain when it happens we have started to see a lot of the plants growing well and without any insect problems so far. In the photos there are Onions, Tomatoes, Basil, Chili, birds eye chili, peppers and mixed peppers. All still in the early stages but just wanted to show how easy things can be grown in a small area. Another important point to add is no fertilizers, compost or insecticides have been used these are totally organic growth from soil we dug up.
