Extra hot the last week in the Philippines

In all the time I have been in the Philippines so far I have never felt as hot as I have the last few days. Talking to my father in-law he mentioned it had reached 36 degrees in some parts of the Philippines and I could well believe it. At the moment I am struggling to wear a T-shirt during the day and generally finding myself wandering round just in basketball shorts and still sweating like mad. So if your wondering is it just you that’s feeling tired and hot the last week your not alone the temperature has gone up.

Another thing I have started doing is rebuilding the grass in the garden as I find most people seem to pull it all up yet this is why so much dust is in the air. So doing the reverse many people may think I am mad but its helping preserve the ground cover which also means its stopping the ground drying out at the same time cutting down on dust flying around. With this hot weather though have been trying to do it at night and early morning to reduce the risk of grass and plants being sunburned by the heat which the water obviously makes more intense.

Try starting off with a few square metres of Bermuda, plant small clumps in and around the sparse areas of your grass, eventually it spreads and chokes the old straggly carabao grass, if it goes in say 4 inches apart it will slowly join up and give good ground cover, it seems to retain moisture better too.

Will give it a go as I want to retain the moisture rather than getting this dust up was thinking about the road eventually having it concrete on two tracks with the centre just grassed slightly lower than the concrete to allow it to be used as drainage at the same time still useful for looking green.
