Expats don’t get involved with Philippines politics

I have to admit I have been posting a fair bit on Philippines politics although more from a diagnostic basis and warning(s) basis. Than actually shouting for any political support of one candidate in the Philippines election.
But Philippines politics can be extremely hazardous to your health and a couple of instances I have been aware of include a mayor being shot dead after winning a local election and someone’s house being machine pistoled from a passing motorbike.
Reality is the Philippines is volatile but also doesn’t like too much spotlight on its politics and for an expat in country it’s simply not worth getting involved in. I actually recommend avoiding places that can be a target and also people likely to become one.
