Bus companies of the Philippines contact details

The bus companies are generally how most people move in the Philippines. Part of the reason Cebu didn’t rebuild its rail network after its destruction in World War two is the way that people generally prefer to get on and off as they please which obviously trains can’t do. So as the Americans left and the Jeeps were converted to the lifeline that is the Jeepney’s of the Philippines.

The bus transport system generally works out of Manila and is a bit of a bloodline to the whole country so even if islands aren’t inter connected if you can reach Manila you can pretty much guarantee you will be able to reach your final destination. I have noticed the Visayas region is summarily linked via Cebu with people arriving at Cebu city from one island and getting a ferry to the next.

Now when you start comparing the costs of transportation the buses come up cheap same as ferries. Not always comfortable and often overloaded but to get round on a budget or as a backpacker there isn’t much else going to give more miles to the peso. The setup of the bus companies as well also means they do operate out of different terminals, not sure why this has been allowed to happen but there is severe rivalry between companies so probably better things stay the way they are. Below you can find a list of buses and their routes, I will be adding more to the list shortly :-
