As politician Reynaldo Dagsa who is a councillor in Manila was taking a family photo he caught his murderer in his lense with the final picture he will take in his life also may be the key to catching the assassin.
In the photo as you can see Reynaldo’s daughter, wife and mother inlaw are busy smiling for the camera while the murderer takes aim unknown to them. On back right his accomplace awaits the gunshots.
The gunman had approached from behind the vehicle as seen in the second photo. Two shots were fired one into Reynaldo’s right forearm and the other to the chest. Although rushed to hospital he was pronounced dead on arrival. On a positive note to this though on the family passing the camera to the Police (PNP) the murderer was quickly identified as Michael Gonzales, also known by the underworld name of Fubo of Fish Pond Area 1.
Police chief Jude Santos said: ‘While he was taking the picture of his family on New Year’s Day, the killer appeared and he inadvertently took the picture of the killer – with the gun aimed at him.’
The Police are now trying to locate his accomplice who has been named as Rommel Olivia, out of camera shot a third man was connected with the assassination Francis Bumjal..
Sadness in this is why things like international alerts were raised by other countries warning them about coming to the Philippines not only for the terrorism and kidnapping gangs but its the early period after elections which sad to say will only see more people killed as they try to take or retake power from those that won elections. Murder a politician you can force elections.
Relatives say there last goodbyes and touch the coffin at the wake held in Manila, the murderer is believed to have carried out the attack as revenge as the politician was involved in law enforcement in his district. The killer was a car thief out on bail and believed to have taken this action after the victim Reynaldo Dagsa had called for the arrest of the killer last year.
The thing is I wonder how many of you would be reading this if it wasn’t for the Photo truth of the matter is a shooting and murder of at least one person happens everyday in Manila. That’s not including the kidnappings and other violence that plagues parts of the country. Guns are easily accessible and many are made on the black market a cheap pistol can be bought for around P1,000 (Less than £10) often you will find a motorcycle rider with an armed passenger ride up along side vehicles and open fire.
In a twist to the story the murderer had been shot in the head previously by Reynaldo Dagsa and was the main motive of his own murder happening.
