Another day another fiesta

We headed over to some friends last night for a fiesta night if its something you aren’t aware of there is pretty much fiestas going on all the time infact yesterday there were two different ones with two different friends but either way its a good time to meet up with friends especially if your a pork lover as the “lechon baboy” (Pork) is normally a whole pig that has been cooked over coals over a period of time. I don’t each much pork infact could say I don’t eat pork pretty much unless its bacon. But its always a good place to make new friends and enjoy a few beers. Culturally there seems to be a fiesta for every baranghay and then main Fiesta’s for the towns which pretty much could fill an annual calendar. There is also certain birthday celebrations which are a major celebration such as a child’s first birthday then there are several intervals which are expected to be a party aswell.

We normally have a Christmas party but I am thinking from this year onwards will just do a children’s Christmas party every year instead of adults especially now the net café is here as we have a lot of regular customers who are unlikely to have another party throughout the year so good to tie the event together with our friends and customers at the same time.

Depends on the fiesta though as there are interesting and colourful ones full of dance and precession etc. but then you also get the smaller ones that involve videoke at full blast until 3 – 4 am and just drinking and eating. Generally I can hear at least 1 fiesta a month from where we live because of the size of sound systems people are using even several miles away its “thump thump” all through the night until the small hours.
